Brainstorm
Coming out of university, we ask ourselves: how can we make an impact as efficiently as possible? We learn about the top industries damaging the planet - fashion ranks in the top 4. “If we can make cool clothes for our friends, and do it sustainably, surely that’ll be a success?” R4 (reduce, reuse, recycle, repeat) as a brand name, is inspired by the principles of a circular economy.

R4 launch
Concept Collection
We started R4 at 21 (Tino) and 23 (Angelo). R4 had been on our minds as students, part-time workers, and full-time “hustlers”.
After 1.5 years of brainstorms, we launch our first collection: the Concept Collection - the introduction of R4.

Fabrics Collection
Launch
Things went well, and fast!
So we designed and launched our second collection: the Fabrics Collection.
It promotes the benefits of sustainable and organic materials (such as bamboo, organic cotton, and much more).

Growth
2022 was a year of growth. With enough stock to scale 300% from our first collection, we expanded our reach. From collaborating with independent artists to working with environmental NGOs and creating garments for businesses, R4 became available on dozens of retail platforms, boutiques, and wholesalers.

Rebrand
Reflections lead to new brainstorms. Sustainability, especially in the fashion industry, is picking up quickly. Competition is getting stiffer. A lot of upcoming brands, but also the fashion giants claiming to be more green. It did not feel right to “just” do fashion. We needed to adapt to the market while staying true to our mission. More focus on education and community to grow the name. So 2023 was a rebrand year.
